TBT: I’m From Brooklyn

what it look like? – Fabolous. When we first got Hunter, we were so excited to bring him everywhere with us (mainly me). And by everywhere, I meant EVERYWHERE. Just ask our friends.  Within his first two months with us, we brought him to a dragon boat festival, to our friends’ houses, lots of hikes and also this well-known pizza spot. If you’re from Brooklyn, New York… you’ve definitely tried this before – Spumoni Gardens. Hunter was no exception.

20130721_120259As you can see Hunter had a training collar around his neck during this outing. I’m a trained psychologist and was opposed to keeping that around his neck. I wanted to take it off immediately after we got Hunter. Selton thought otherwise. Being that Hunter was still getting use to us and vice versa, he didn’t trust Hunter enough outside and kept it on as a precautionary. We compromised. We kept it on for only two weeks and now I have no idea where it is. You’ll be glad to know that we’ve never used it on him and the only time we used it was on our friends for our own entertainment. lol

I know some people train with the collars. I’m not going to tell you otherwise. If it works for you, it works for you. It isn’t for everyone. Until next time!

Our boy Hunter actually howls! I know.. our blog name is ironic because prior to today, Hunter never actually howled. I was awoken this morning by the sound of firetruck sirens in our neighborhood. Being a typical New Yorker, I ignored it and tried to go back to sleep… that was until Hunter decided to howl. Howling was something we worked on in the past but he never nailed it. Then today, I sat in amazement as my boy howled his little soul away. So amazed that I decided to find a recording on YouTube to see if he would do it again. And he did.

His wolf ancestors would be proud. My neighbors… not so much.

Until next time!

Puppy blog #152: Playing In the Snow

woof woof! Hunter here, still enjoying the snow from Mr. Jonas. While everyone looked miserable making their way to work and school this morning, I didn’t have a care in the world. I tried to spread my happiness by smiling at all the human folks we walked past on our way to the tennis courts this morning… but I didn’t get any smiles back. I guess I wouldn’t be happy either if I had to dig my car out of the snow. Oh wells. Here are a few pictures of me in the snow.

Mommy is obsessed with taking these types of action shots of me.
Instead of playing catch with mommy, I played mostly by myself today. Times like these call for a game of search and rescue. Rules are simple. Hide the frisbee underneath the snow and then rescue it afterwards! Duhhhh.. Super Hunter’s here to save the day!    Found ya!

Hope all my furry friends are enjoying the snow too. I know our blogging friends Choppy, Chase, and Sammie and Emma are! As for you humans, I hope your trip to work and school are better tomorrow. Smile and spread some woof!

P.S – My tummy isn’t feeling well today. We ate at papa’s house yesterday and my grandparents gave me too much human food. I had a minor accident that resulted in the use of a mop and lots and lots of cleaning spray. Plus a bath too. Now mommy has to wash her bed sheets, pillow cases and comforter. Luckily for me, my parents aren’t mad at me and didn’t yell at me. They know it isn’t my fault. They yelled at grandma Ng instead. I feel bad, sorta. Hunter out.
