Puppy blog #155: New Favorite

woof woof! Hunter here. Mommy’s home this week! After a stressful first week at her new job, she’s already on mid-winter recess. Ahh.. the perks of working as an educator! She’s a tad sick though so to make up for the shortened walks, she’s been buying my love and attention with treats.

  These Merrick venison holiday stew treats were on sale on Chewy.com so mommy bought a few. They’re absolutely delicious!     Even mommy sniffed it and said that it smelled good.
  YUM! Mommy laughs at me when I eat these treats because she says that I forget to chew. Oh wells.

I promise to behave when I’m home alone if you promise to reward my good behavior with my new favorite treat! Pretty, pretty please!!? Hunter out.

Snowstorm Jonas!

Morning friends! We’ve just received our first major snowstorm overnight and boy oh boy is Hunter one happy pup. Like a child at Disney World, he could hardly contain all his excitement. He pawed at our front door as I opened it as if he was saying, “Hurry up, hurry up, before it all melts!”

We played in the tennis courts where there was endless untouched snow for the boy to run around in.
  Then the boy dunked his face in the snow as if he were an ostrich. Silly boy.   There was a lot of snowball eating. We’re going to have to let him out on his walk early today.
  And a lot of jumping and prancing around. Selton bought Hunter the Protex PawZ booties to try this season being that his old ones ripped. Verdict? Let’s just say that we’re glad they came in a pack of 12. All four of his boots ripped today.

We haven’t found anything durable enough to handle Hunter’s big paws. Even his expensive set that had fleece lining and velcro got destroyed after a few walks during his first winter with us. Sigh. We’ll keep trying but if you have recommendations, let us know! Until next time.

Doggy Sitting

Hello friends! Hope all our fellow New Yawkers are staying dry in this icky weather today! The three of us are hanging out at home. Yes. Three of us. That’s because Riley, the stinker is over again. My sister went on vacation and since I was off yesterday and today, I decided to be a good human Auntie and trek over to the house to fetch the brat. While she has been pretty good, I think the absence of my sister these past few days has caused her to regress a little. For example, yesterday I took her out in the courtyard to pee in the afternoon.. but no go. But the brat decides to pee on her big brother’s bed.. and then all over my floors. GOSH! Brat!!! And since I didn’t know it was going to rain today, Hunter’s bed covering is getting a second wash courtesy of mother nature. Because Riley is here again, I temporarily covered Hunter’s bed with newspaper and a flat sheet just in case she decides to be a brat again. Anyways, she’s having the time of her life right now.. at my expense of course.

  We picked this up at Stew Leonard’s this weekend. Like any treat.. this was a gamble. Hunter is pretty picky when it comes to dog treats.  But Hunter absolutely loved it and totally didn’t mind sharing his treat. I’ll have pick up a few more next time I see it!

This was them after devouring the treat. Sigh. Doggy sitting usually means no nap day. Oh wells.
